Between 29 and 30 August the Nexus Summit 2019 took place, the official event of Nexus, the innovation hub of the São José dos Campos Technology Park, and the largest startup event in the Vale do Paraíba region, with the whole innovation ecosystem present for learning and networking. And I had the honor and the privilege of taking part, representing Vínculoo®.

For anyone who does not know the project, Vínculoo® is an adaptive platform that supports education and health professionals in the teaching and learning of children with disabilities, global developmental disorders and giftedness.

At the event I was able to present the project, build new connections and exchange experience with professionals working in the startup ecosystem. To my delight, Vínculoo® was one of 15 startups selected (from more than 50) to take part in the Demo Day, where I gave the pitch to the community of entrepreneurs and investors.

At a gathering with so many important names in the sector, what also cannot be missing is a mention of several of them, whose talks stimulated and opened horizons for the entrepreneurial spirit. Among them, Romero Rodrigues (Redpoint eventures, co-founder of Buscapé), Fernando Seabra (mentor at Planeta Startup and founder of Fábrica de Unicórnios), Maria Rita Spina Bueno (executive director of Anjos do Brasil), Vinicius Ferriani (co-founder of Gympass), Marcelo Mejlachowicz (Veduca), Núbia Mota (Magento), João Kepler (writer and angel investor at Bossa Nova Investimentos), Amure Pinho (president of ABStartup), Lara Lemann (Maya Capital), among other speakers.

What I also cannot fail to stress is that this was one more of the opportunities I have had to show how important accessibility and inclusive education are within this startup universe. I know that, like me, many others take up the cause, so it is worth keeping an eye on Brazil's calendar of tech events. The Nexus Summit is one of the events that deserve attention, both for the entrepreneurship community and for those still dreaming of their own business. After all, we have to take these opportunities to show the best of what Brazilians have: ideas.
